Lifted Peugeot 504 Wagon AWD. UPDATE: Thanks pip bip! It's a Dangel.

Driving past a paint/panel shop today this caught my eye. I first thought it was just sitting on a Hilux chassis but somehow retained the correct Peugeot rims. I couldn’t get clear enough photos of the underside but it looked to be lifted by dropping the subframe on some custom brackets. What I did notice was it had front drive shafts, these cars are usually rear wheel drive only so not sure what trickery is going on here. Might go and ask if I can get some proper shots next time I’m going past.

UPDATED; Thanks ‘pip bip’, I think he’s right in saying its a Dangel, a French company that converted the 504 and some other french vehicles to AWD.

Reckon you're right. It looked well made and not farm shed engineered.

I found only ONE on AutoScout and it was a pickup. I tried the two other classified sites I know for Belgium and found this one. A little out of my price range.

you dont want the 504, just so slow. There are usually a few 505 ones on leboncoin.fr. Actually a 504 on there for 1600 euro http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/offre… but the 505 at least has a turbo diesel...

I don’t know what language that is or how much it is in AUD. Thanks for posting that ad though as I can see in one of the pics that it may have low range, I can just make out a second stick coming out of the trans tunnel, awesome!

7900 Euros; it’s Dutch. It’s a 2.0L petrol engine with a 5-speed transmission. translate.google.com is your friend.

Cool sounds good but if it’s priced to high then not so good. Have you seen these Peugeot AWD 504 before?

I’ll try that, never used it before.

I’m just now getting used to the whole Peugeot 504 line, and with guys like 505 Turbo GTI around, we’ll all get schooled :D

I just had a bit of a look around locally and found that this Dangel conversation was never sold new here in Australia. Not sure of the numbers here but it is safe to say it's very rare in these parts.

Ha cool! That was before I found this wonderful place.

I can’t belive I saw such a unicorn, extremely rare here in Australia. I almost didn’t stop for photos as I thought it was some home built thing at first, the wheels intrigued me so I looked closer. Young guy comes out to move that corolla and I had a brief convo about the car with him. He said it “was just some jacked up Renault or something’! He didn't realise the rarity of it either.
